 Thomas Beaton M.D.
Dr. Thomas Beaton is Board Certified in Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery. He began his practice in Minnesota following his training at the University of North Dakota School Of Medicine and the University of Minnesota School of Medicine. In 1986, Dr. Beaton moved to Coeur d’Alene and began his practice at Kootenai Medical Center.
Dr. Beaton joined the team of surgical and medical specialists practicing at Northwest Specialty Hospital in 2003.
As the Northwest Specialty Hospital specialist for Ear, Nose and Throat medicine, Dr. Beaton brings a particular interest in his patients’ well being, comfort and satisfaction. “The facilities and staff at this hospital are simply the best in the region, and that’s what I want for my patients.”

 Thomas R. deTar M.D.
Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery
Dr. deTar was born and raised in Reno, Nevada. He received his medical degree from the University of Southern California in 1986. He then completed two years of general surgical residency, followed by four years of specialization in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Southern California, is certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology, and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
From 1992 to 1996 he worked with the United States Air Force and as Associate Professor of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at Louisiana State University-Shreveport.
He, his wife and nine children moved to Idaho in 1996. His hobbies include music, woodworking, skiing, tennis and farming.
