Gordon Luther, MD

Urgent Care

Gordon Luther is a board certified physician with 25 years of experience in emergency medicine. Since 2015 he has also served as co-medical director for the Kootenai County EMS System.   He enjoys the challenges of acute care medicine, particularly in cardiology and trauma care.  He enjoys teaching, and collaboration with his EMS colleagues, while working to provide excellent EMS care for our community.

Dr. Luther has also spent 2 1/2 years doing medical mission work in El Salvador and Bolivia.  He returns frequently to Bolivia with a team of physicians and firefighters from Kootenai County to teach trauma courses to our Bolivian medical colleagues.  Their nonprofit, Medical Educators for Latin America, CDA, has built a clinic and a school in rural Bolivia.

Dr. Luther grew up in the inland northwest, and has lived in Coeur d’Alene since 1999.  He did his undergraduate work at Occidental College, and medical school at University of Washington.  He enjoys spending time with his family, including attending his kids’ many activities.  He enjoys music, as well as many sports, including cycling, kayaking and scuba diving.
