Nasal Endoscopy Performed to Diagnose Nose and Sinus Problems

Nasal endoscopy is an outpatient procedure in which an instrument with lights and a camera attached is used to examine the inside of the nose and the areas of sinus drainage. The tube is smaller than a pencil and may be flexible or rigid, and is used in conjunction with a numbing agent. This procedure is used at our ear, nose, and throat clinic so we can look for structural abnormalities, swollen areas of the nasal passages and mucosal membranes, infected secretions, and to sample those secretions to determine the nature of infection.

Surgeries Include Tonsillectomy, Thyroid, Tympanoplasty, Stapedectomy, Ear Tubes, and More

Another common procedure performed at our ear, nose, and throat clinic is tonsillectomy, which is a surgery where the tonsils are removed due to recurring and severe tonsillitis, or complications or diseases of the tonsils.

Various ear surgeries, including tympanoplasty, stapedectomy, mastoidectomy, and ventilating tube management are also available at our ear, nose, and throat clinic. In tympanoplasty, a perforated eardrum is repaired with a graft in order to restore hearing and heal disease. Stapedectomy is used to treat progressive hearing loss and mastoidectomy to remove mastoid air cells in the skull that are infected due to an ear infection that has spread to the skull. Ear tubes are tiny cylindrical pieces that help ventilate the middle ear to prevent infection-causing fluids from building up behind the eardrum.

Besides these procedures, numerous other surgeries and treatments can be scheduled at the ear, nose, and throat clinic at Northwest Specialty Hospital. Contact us to learn more about how you can find relief for ear problems, sinus issues, and sleep problems today.
