[Post Falls, August 2, 2023] – Northwest Specialty Hospital (NWSH) proudly announces that it has been awarded a prestigious 5-Star Rating by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The 5-Star Rating is the highest possible rating in CMS’s Overall Hospital Quality Star Rating system, a testament to NWSH’s unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional patient care and safety.
The CMS Overall Hospital Quality Star Rating is a comprehensive evaluation of hospitals based on 46 quality measures publicly reported. These measures are divided into five key categories, including Mortality, Safety of Care, Readmission, Patient Experience, and Timely & Effective Care. Hospitals are rated based on the data available for each measure group, and only those meeting reporting thresholds are eligible for a star rating.
Among the 4,654 hospitals evaluated nationwide, merely 483, or just over 10%, received the distinguished 5-Star Rating, placing NWSH among the top echelon of healthcare facilities in the country. Only four hospitals in the state of Idaho received this coveted rating. This achievement reflects NWSH’s dedication to delivering outstanding healthcare outcomes and prioritizing patient safety and satisfaction.
